Dr. Chris Edwards has dedicated her life to supporting the human in uniform. Her perspective is strongly influenced by her work with military members and Veterans of both conventional and Special Operations units, NATO, NASA, RCMP and numerous first-responder organizations around the world. Chris acts as a researcher, advocate, and consultant for military, emergency responders, mission critical teams, and athletes on topics of injury prevention, fitness, and performance, as well as female reproductive health, pregnancy, postpartum, menopause, and menstrual cycle in relation to injury risk, fitness, and performance.
Splitting her time between Canada and the United Kingdom, Chris' current research includes: i) chronic pain and injuries sustained during military and police service, ii) musculoskeletal injury and performance of mission critical team personnel, iii) treatments for pelvic floor related issues in servicewomen and Veterans, and iv) unique healthcare needs of females who serve as military and emergency response personnel.
Chris is also a Strength and Conditioning Coach who specialises in military, special operations, emergency response, pilots, and other mission critical team personnel, serves as an Associate Editor at the Journal of Military, Veteran, Family Health, is a peer-reviewer for the Journal of Special Operation Medicine, and spends her free time training her Belgian Malinois / Dutch Shepherd.
